M3U player · iOS

A calm M3U player for iPhone and iPad.

Kanalo reads standard M3U and M3U8 playlists over HTTP or HTTPS. Paste your URL, and Kanalo parses the groups, channels, movies and series in your list — nothing else, nothing added.

Why Kanalo

01

M3U and M3U8 out of the box

Pull in a standards-compliant playlist over HTTP or HTTPS. Kanalo handles group-title, tvg-id, tvg-logo and tvg-name automatically.

02

Groups become sections

Providers ship channels grouped by country, genre or sport. Kanalo turns those group tags into a browseable sidebar and category grid.

03

Auto EPG when supplied

If your playlist points at an XMLTV EPG source, Kanalo shows what's on now, what's next, and a progress bar that ticks with the clock (Pro).

04

Reloadable at any time

Kanalo re-fetches your playlist when it changes. Add a channel with your provider — pull-to-refresh and it appears.

05

Favourites and continue watching

Star channels and shows to bring them to the top. Continue-watching lives in one place across live TV, movies and series (Pro).

06

Nothing uploaded

Your M3U URL never leaves the app. Kanalo only makes the request your provider expects.

What is an M3U playlist?

An M3U (or M3U8, the UTF-8 variant) is a plain text file that lists channels, streams and metadata. IPTV providers hand you a URL that returns this file; a player like Kanalo reads it and shows what's inside. Kanalo does not host, generate or provide M3U playlists.

How to add an M3U playlist to Kanalo

Open Kanalo, tap 'Add source', paste your M3U URL, and give it a name. Kanalo fetches the playlist, parses the groups, and drops you on the Live screen. If your provider also gave you an EPG URL, add it in the same step to unlock now/next.

M3U vs Xtream Codes — which one should you use?

If your provider supports both, Xtream Codes is usually smoother: it lets Kanalo pull categorised movies and series, not just a flat channel list. If you only have an M3U URL, Kanalo works perfectly well with it — you'll just see live channels grouped by tag.
