Ads and the Pro price
The Smarters family is free, which is great — until a banner covers the score in the last minute of a match. Kanalo is free to download, with an optional Pro upgrade for AirPlay, PiP, Chromecast, favourites and EPG. No banner, no interstitial, no "upgrade" nag. You pay once and the app stays out of the way.
Privacy and where your playlist lives
Kanalo doesn't have an account system. Your M3U URL or Xtream host, username and password are stored only on your iPhone or iPad. There are no analytics SDKs and no third-party trackers. If you delete the app, the credentials go with it — nothing to unsubscribe from, nothing sitting in someone else's database.
iPad, PiP, AirPlay and Chromecast
Most Smarters builds run the iPhone layout scaled up on iPad. Kanalo ships a real iPad layout with a sidebar for groups and favourites, a big live preview, and a landscape player with an up-next dock. To be fair: if you need the same player on Android, Fire TV, Windows and iOS, Smarters covers that surface. Kanalo does not — it focuses on doing one thing well on iPhone and iPad. tvOS is on the roadmap; Android and Windows are not.
